I read something the other day..not sure where it was. We should take the MESS to our sponsor so we can take the MESSAGE to the meeting.
I like that. It keeps me from spending meeting time listening to others saying things like she did this or that...I need to share how this or that effected me and what I did about it and what I will do in the future about it.

yep...Tho I heard it a different way...'Carry the message not the mess [this is in regards to service tho]
"I am responsible..When anyone anywhere reaches out for help I want the hand of AA to be and for that I am responsible" ...and it was suggested to me to add to that one more line
and I am responsible to carry the message responsibly

Like the 5th Tradition, my primary purpose is to carry the message to the alcoholic/addict who still suffers and it is a family disease, so they need help too. I was told not to judge the messenger and take the message and not disregard it because we don't like the looks or the words of the messenger. Some people are not very literate and have trouble sharing their feelings and saying things what we consider the right way. They have a right to share too and we need to practice patience and tolerance and allow them the right to speak and find recovery too. Generally it is me that is a mess when I go to a meeting,so I need to be open to what I need to hear, no matter what the source is.

Sharing is so important. You will often hear what you need from the moot unlikely source.
