S is for Stop. Stop and take an inventory. Stop a momentand think things out instead of act react. Stop and look at where your thinking is at. Does it need to be change? When we go to a meeting and share, we can here ourselves and we can see where we are at and we can hear others share and get some Good Orderly Direction.

In NA we are told to dump our problems so you only have to take a portion home. That is good, but there are some thing best left to a talk with your sponsor for some people, I am a pretty open person and tend to tell things as they are. No need to be rude and crude, a lot is often the right words chosen to tell it. Sometimes you aren't aware and the words just come spilling out. I fiound myself at a meeting on night and a woman came up and said, "I am so glad that you shared what you did, I thought I was the only one. At the time I thought, how come that came out? Things most times are meant to be in spite of ourselves. You never know when you are going to touch someone or someone is going to touch you. A lot is often how you say it. I know that if I hear some cuss words come out, I need to go to a meeting. How strong is your message and program if a whole lot of cuss words come out.

Thought this was appropriate with the holidays coming upon us.

C is for Could. As a friend reminded me, "Step Two says we could be restored to sanity. It doesn't say it would!!! I am restored from that hopeless state of mind and body, still can be a little crazy, but it is not like the insanity of my disease. When I apply the Steps, I take myself out of the state of active addiction.

C is for Care. We put our life into the Care of God. He will direct our path, give us strength and courage, all we have to do is acknowledge Him and remember to take Him with us through out our day. My sponsor use to say,"Suit up and show up for your day and the rest will follow." A lot is me and my attitude. It generally needs changing and aligning my will with my God's Will for me in today.

C is for Came to believe. We came to AA/NA/OtherAnonymous, we came to, and we came to believe that the program would work for us. I went to AA for my denial, I went to NA for identification, I went to ACoA and was grateful that I had gone to AA first or I might have died of my own disease. I was so busy blaming others, and didn't stop to look at myself. I went to Al-Anon and that is where I found myself. I came to believe that I could identify with both sides of the street.
