Love this reading. It affirms what I learned early in recovery. It is alright to just be!
It is so different from old tapes. The devil makes work for idle hands. If you aren't doing you are lazy and worthless. What a great gift in recovery for me it was to learn to know, it was okay to just be, and be alone with myself. I later learned how to invite my God in and have a little talk with Him. I didn't know He was already there.

"Just A Little Talk With Jesus" I once was lost in sin but Jesus took me in And then a little light from heaven filled my soul He bathed my heart in love and wrote my name above And just a little talk with my Jesus made me whole (Now let us) have a little talk with Jesus (let us) tell him all about our troubles (He will) hear our faintest cry (and we will) answer by and by (Now when you) feel a little pray'r wheel turning (Then you'll) know a little fire is burning (You will) find a little talk with Jesus makes it right [ piano ] (Now let us) have a little talk... [ piano ] I may have doubts and fears my eyes be filled with tears But Jesus is a friend who watches day and night I go to him in prayer he knows my every care And just a little talk with my Jesus gonna makes it right (Now let us) have a little talk... (Makes it right) It doesn't matter what name we call our Higher Power, but we can't go far wrong in stopping to have a little talk with ... www.ruhanisatsangusa.org/swii/swii-II.htm

So much pressure in today's society to fit in. How difficult is it to stand up for what we believe in? Had a guy say to me many years ago, "I didn't know you were a Christian?" You aren't a Bible thumper. I said, "Do I have to be a Bible thumper to be a Christian? Do I have to be a Big Book thumper to be a sober alcoholic. I just know that I prefer what my sponsee said, "I want what she has." I want what the lady said, "Oh, you are that spiritual lady." "I want to hear people say, "You are looking good" even when the inside doesn't feel good. I want to be able to be me and not compromise myself.
