True happiness, we are told, consists in getting out of one's self, but the point is not only to get out - you must stay out; and to stay out you must have some absorbing errand.
- Henry James
Many times as a result of service, a difficult moment has been made good. God always seems to know when I need rescuing better than I do. The phone will ring, someone wants to go to a meeting, a volunteer is needed for detox, a speaker is needed for a meeting, someone can't set up, will I cover for them.
They say, to get self-esteem, you need to do esteemable acts. That isn't what I called them, I think of them more as spiritual moments that saved my butt, got me out of self, and an opportunity to help others while I helped myself!
The esteem came from God because He chose to give me another day of Grace.

Thanks, so much Caressa!!
Your posts make so much difference on this board!!
I doubt you realize how much. I definitely relate/identify.
You don't have to go about mentioning this or that as examples, your program of spirituality shows in so very many ways.
It is seen with the humility of almost every one your posts.
God, I want what you (and others) have!!
I love you for being an example.

Thank you for the kind words KnotHead. It may seem you want what I have, but in reality, you already have it. It is within you waiting to be found.
You don't need what I have, you need what your God has given you and will reveal to you as you travel this journey, as He has revealed to me.
It is about finding your own truth, walking your own talk, and connection with your God, and believe me it takes time and practice. What I share isn't original, it is something that I have either read, heard shared by others on my own personal journey. I was blessed with a lot of good teachers, who took the time for me.
