Pain

Having just reach my fourteenth birthday, I am reminded that I need this program just as much today as I did when I arrived at the doors of recovery.
Pain was a reason that I got hooked on prescription drugs and it started way back in my teens and I was put on valium at sixteen because I didin't know how to handle the pain and responsibility that was a part of my life.
I need to always remember that this disease is four-fold and that pain can make itself known in many ways and emotional and mental pain can come out physically and visa versa. Our AA conference is coming up next month and it is a place that seems to soothe the savage beast in me and gives me an innoculation for another year, especially when I need a Spiritual Booster.

The Pain Topic I read really hit home, I have a daughter thats 17 and currently in rehab. I thought that there were very few teens with a pill problem. I kknow I have one I just never thought that my daughter would have one at such an early age. It really helps me to know that theirs others out there who understand this whole addiction for both our sakes. Please pray for us while we are fighting the battle with our recovery

Consider prayers sent. This is a family disease. No blame or shame required, just a fact. I have a son in active addiction. His drug of choice is different than mine, but that doesn't make him less ot more of an addict.
