U is for Understanding. Understand God as He shows Himself to you in today. Don't let God be an old tape. Get to know and understand His Will for you in today.

V is for Victory. Victory over our addiction, one day at a time. Just for today, I don't have to pick up, no matter what!

W is for Woe is Me. Often we ask ourselves, "Why me?" Why not me? Life happens and I need to get off the pity pot and pick up the tools of recovery and live each day to the best of my ability. I am given a second chance at life, what more can I ask for?

X is for Xenophile. A person attracted to that which is foreign, especially to foreign peoples, manners, or cultures. Sexual arousal evoked by strangers. Once seduced, these strangers lose their sexual appeal. Thanks to recovery and the 12 Steps of AA, I no longer have to act out in my disease. I am not my disease.

Y is for Yellow. It stands for caution. When you start to get stinking thinking, run to the nearest meeting. Call your sponsor, a friend, a spiritual adviser/clergy, and remember, if you haven't done it yet, you will find yourself there if you relapse. This is a progressive disease. Hugs, not drugs.

Z is for Zen. There are many religions, I love their teachings. I am open to learning and loving my God in all ways that nurture my Spirit.
