We spent over (6) six hours waiting to get new cell phones. AT&T said they were declaring our old cell phones obsolete and we were forced to get new ones. I think AT&T likes to play God! I do think it is a good idea to have a cell phone in case of emergency. There are NO pay phones any more! We were ready to walk out a few times but God let us stay and get it taken care of. I am now faced with trying to learn yet another piece of electronic equipment which might be self centered but is actually God Centered because it could save my A$$ if the car breaks down or there is a medical problem. This is a real reality check for me and it is a mix of self centered/God centered!!!!!------Bunnypie

Don't have a cell phone myself. I keep saying I should get one, but doesn't happen. My tremon disorder makes them difficult to use and I do have a mental block toward them. I highly dislike them, especially when I see people on them instead of living and ignoring what is going around them. It really bothers me when I see people on the phones and letting their kids run riot or they let their kids cry until they finish that one more text. I don't see them as a God thing, more as a drug that takes you out of yourself and away from God. Being God-centered for me is living life in the moment. With a cell phone in your hand, it takes you away from there. They are good for emergencies, but not something to be on all the time like I see some people. I even heard of a child hurt and another killed while mother was on her phone. That breaks my heart, and yet I was the same way with a book. My father said the world could go up in smoke and I would be none the wiser because I had my nose in a book. That is what I did yesterday. I finally made up my mind to finish a book I started about two days previously.

You have a real good point! I see people in the grocery store bashing their carts into the shelves of food asking on the phone "did you want this?" It really scares me when I see people driving waving their hands and talking and not paying attention!!! I don't plan to be that way! I just want to make sure if I need a phone in an emergency that I will have one! It is more of a insurance thing for me then to get all crazy and distracted. I am in a panic that they are NO pay phones around any more! They are a thing of the past.........
