I don't really have a problem with greed. I am willing to share what I have when ever I can. I do have a problem with being too generous. I have gone way over board with sharing $ and time with people who just take advantage and don't appreciate it and just want more & more. I have to learn to NOT be generous to a fault!!!  |

My NA sponsor and spiritual adviser for many years said, "Never give away more than you can afford to lose. Don't give away anything you want back. You make give in one direction, but you won't always get back from that person, they may not be able or willing to return in kind. When you give, you get back, but not always from the original source."
Like here at EoR, we give but we are blessed as a result of that giving as long as we don't put on expectations and make it conditional. I come here for my sobriety. When I miss coming, I am the one who loses out.

Oh Jo----I have made the mistake of loaning out clothes, books, & music and never getting them back. It is good advice to NOT give away something that you want back!!!! I have also invested time & energy helping people and not getting it back. I like what you said about not getting it back from the original source! I can verify that and see where it is accurate!
