I am an organized person. When I am disorganized I get frantic & confused. I make sure to put the current day & date on my chip of the day so I can be organized and also so people who are reading and maybe even posting can have a reference as to what day and time we are talking about. The program says we take it one day at a time. It is also advised that when you put one foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow you piss all over today!!! I have seen a lot of stuff from back in the day on the column. I do understand one of the promises from the Big Book that says "we do not regret the past or wish to shut the door on it" We need to remember the past or we will be doomed to repeat it. If I stay organized and keep learning and moving forward I have a chance to be happy, joyous, & free!!! -------Bunnypie

Guess we come from different points of view. I feel that the message of recovery never grows old, it is just as good in today as it was when the post originated. Many times when I have been hurting, I have gone back to old posts for help when new topics are not posted. I need help when I am hurting, and when I come here and read from the board, 9 times ouf ot 10, I get what I need. Heads will disappear, stress is relieved, and my body pain will lessen. It doesn't matter who says the words, they are recovery words. It also says, "We will not regret the past or wish to shut the door on it. I can go to the past, learn in today, but I don't have to stay there. I often get a new view and awareness when I read them. There is some great messages that I don't like to keep buried in the past.
I don't want people to come to the site and not see a recovery message. It is important for me to show how the program works for me. There are some great posts from some great people. They were a part of this group, and though they are gone for what ever reason, they do have words of wisdom that I can apply to my life. This is a one day at a time program. I need to address issues from my past that creep into today. I can also see how I have grown or how I have slid in my own recovery between then and now.
Recovery is where I find it. I am not an overly organized person, I go with the flow. I get a thought, go to the section, and look for a post that speaks to me in today. The message is there if I am willing to work for it. It is also difficult to talk to yourself. I run out of ideas.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! You nailed it Jo! It is difficult to talk to yourself & you do run out of ideas!!! This is why it is important to get some other people to share & care with us on this site. I get triggered off by what someone else says and it gives me ideas and opinions of what to say. You have 25 years of sobriety. I have 32 years of sobriety. We have a total of 57 years sobriety between us!!! That is a lot of experience, strength, and hope to share with others. We have to be willing to share and also to invite others to share and listen to what they have to say!!! It is attraction not promotion but I do think we have to give an "inviting" way to make people want to respond and join in. If anyone who is reading this has any ideas of how to accomplish that PLEASE feel free to make a comment!!!!-------Bunnypie

That is what we have been trying to do when you were not here. Sunnygirl and BW wished for the same thing. You came to the site and tried to make a difference. We had over 300 visitors and then they went away. We had a few new members and they posted spam.
It has been a fighting battle for years. I have been the only one posting in the different sections of the site. I try to post different sections at different times, but like you, I don't always have the energy.
I know how to start new topics. I just get discourage once in a while and I have been enjoying going back to the old posts to get food for thought.

There have been (2) two men that recently posted GM & F150. They both seem to think we need to Keep It Simple and not get off topic. Shakesphere once said "consistency thou art a jewel" which means NOT to get off track and stick to the program. If anyone agrees with this please say so!!!---Bunnypie

For me it is a recovery program. It isn't about viruses. I have only responded to your remarks. I won't be doing that any more.

This is a online site. Virus are important so people don't crash their equipment. How can you get recovery online if your equipment is crashed??? You need to open your mind to that aspect of online recovery. I am glad your equipment seems to be working so you can make a reply...Bunnypie

I am very much on the organized side of this chip. Sometimes I think being so overly organized intimidates those around me. I have seen that when I was teaching and other teachers didn't want to see me getting ahead as far as making copies or doing lesson plans. It's my turn to host family Christmas and I sent email on Monday of this week to tell everybody the day and Time i am aiming for. I still have not heard back from two of them. Perhaps they dont want to put a date on the calendar and work around it.
As far as recovery posts...I know we had some wonderful people here for the longest time. I wish they would return. I have no idea why they moved on. Maybe it's like the meetings...some new ones come and old ones depart.
A few days ago I was on this site and my McAfee gave me a message that it was blocking something harmful. It didn't tell me what it was. And when it ran a scan it quarantined a trojan. I could not figure hoe to remove it from quarantine. So hopefully it will stay locked up! My fingers are crossed it has departed from EOR!~ This is the only recovery site I visit. I have been here from before it was open.

My Very Dear Lin----You are a founding member of this site and that is so precious and wonderful!!! I respect and applaud you hanging in and hanging on for all this time!!! I am trying to stir up interest in the site and especially my column chipping away at character defects. I am very sick with cancer and some days it is difficult to get out of bed. I can manage to crawl to my desk top computer 10 feet from the bed. Coming to this site is like my WTTW (window to the world) I especially like to hear what is going on with you in Kentucky. I am in Chicago area of Illinois so it is a look at somewhere else!!! M y hi tech friend F150 has been scanning thru the site to find virus. One of the virus that was attached to a picture of 2 dogs in the coffee shop area had a malecious trojan virus that made my computer crash. He did a quarantine on it and said it should be okay. I think a quarantine is like putting it in jail??? F150 claims the site is okay for now. He is a new member of this site and you could private msg. him if you want to know technical details. He offered to explain to anyone who wants to know!!! I try so hard to be organized. I put my car keys back in my front pocket of my purse. When I don't I end up ripping the place apart looking for them!!! Organized is necessary for someone who has a rotten memory!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! It is great to hear from you!!!------Delighted Bunnypie

Being organized, I am not. I generally go with the flow.
My computer does the same thing Lin, whether it is here or on another site. I have not had a trouble here as I have said, but there is always the first time. As the saying goes, "There are steps to take, and it sounds like you did it." I try not to go into areas on the internet that I don't know. I won't do banking or buy anything on line.

Sorry, try not to do parnoid these days, that is part of my disease. I choose to live life, put my foot forward, come what may. Like the balance thing, I don't balance with what is around me, I balance myself and align my chakras.
