I was terrified that the chemo was making my bowels go crazy!!! I was told by the cancer doctor to take pills to stay cleaned out. I found out the hard way that I have a tolerance to the pills. I took one on Sunday-one on Monday-one on Tuesday. NOTHING!!! Then Tuesday night into Wednesday I was practically glued to the toilet. It was painful and scary!!! I mentioned it to the cancer doctor on Thursday and she said that I had over dosed!!! She said I was just suppose to take one and see what happened. I was intolerant and thought they were suppose to work within a day!!! I guess I have the alcoholic/addict thinking of if one doesn't work take two or three!!! I was suffering thru chemo because they give a med called "ben-a--drill" and it makes your ass burn!!! On top of already having an ass burn I stood up and did a tap dance. The nurses were all laughing at me until I explained it was a double whammy!!! It did pass after about 10 minutes but I really learned a painful difficult lesson about tolerance!!! I just hate it when my body betrays me like this......Bunnypie

Ironically, I can identify. I have to take medication quite often as I am constipated and if I don't take it, I don't go for 3-5 days, and then when I do, I end up playing Queen of the House, sitting on my throne.
I had migraine medication that the government substidized because nothing else worked on my migraines. I had the migraines for the first 7 years of recovery, until they changed my blood pressure medication. I became immune to the medication, it said to not take more than 3 a day. I was up to 3 a day and still gettiing the migraines. That is when I got into meditation.
I have a high tolerance of things. Alcohol was a good example. I lose my balance now at 74, than I did when I came into the program at 49. I was a functioning drunk, who didn't think she had a problem and very intolerant of anyone who suggested otherwise.

Thanks for understanding!!! A mental or physical tolerance can be a real challenge to deal with!!! I have had to deal with both and is it a real struggle!!! I hope anyone else reading this will share their experience with this issue!!!! Thanks---Bunnypie
