I went to the 10:30am meeting at the Joiet AA Club and there is a man who chairs the meeting name "Pastor Peter" He is a pastor at an actual church in Joliet. He is the nicest man I have ever known. I haven't seen him in over 6 months because I don't get to make that meeting very often. He was real shocked to see me and asked "How are you?" I had to be real humble and tell him I had cancer. I took my hat off and showed him I was totally bald. He gave me a big hug and said to me "you are a rare original and I have quoted you in several of my sermons" and then he hugged me!!! I was so proud he didn't shun me and walk away!!! I was almost in tears!!! I had pride and humility going on at the same time!!!------Bunnypie

Thanks for sharing, a wonderful moment for you. I would say, "Just what you needed."
Humility is asking for help. We can do what I can't do alone. There is no humiliation in not knowing what we haven't been taught or experiened.
It is okay to have pride in what I have done as long as I give my Higher Power as being the Source of my strength and knowledge.

YES! there is good pride and bad pride. Bad pride is when you are too proud to ask for help or too proud that you think you are better then everyone else. Good pride is like what happened to me. I had no idea that he would want to hug a sickly bald cancer ridden person like me! I thought he would walk away like so many others have. I was amazed when he said he had Quoted me in some of his sermons! I don't know what church he is the pastor of so I have never been there. It was such a kind and nice thing for him to say. I was almost in tears!!!!-------Bunnypie
