I have an office appt./visit with my general family doctor today. He has been my doctor for over 15 years and I have always been able to be honest and ask him questions. I have a list of questions I want to ask him. I am confident that he will give me honest answers and if he doesn't know he will not be dishonest. He will tell me to go to a specialist. I really value honesty in a doctor!!!!---Bunnypie

Lucky you, that is one of the reasons that I chose my new doctor. Now I don't get to see him, have been getting interns and don't get that one one one with him. Not to happy about having a mediator. I complained to my laster doctor and he said, "It seems like you have trust issues, I am letting you go as my patient." I said, "What I have is abandonment issues." Now I am leery about complaining. Sometimes things get lost in the translation.
Honesty is important to me. It always has been, even before recovery. The only problem was that I omitted myself in that equation and lied to myself all the time.

I went to see my doctor and he was out sick today! He had a substitute doctor fill in for him and he refused to give me antibiotics for some lingering bronchitis. He didn't want to answer some questions that I had and said he had others waiting for him. I was real disgusted and just left. I told the receptionist that I would probably die of bronchitis before I die of cancer and walked out of there. It really felt like a wasted trip!!!

Sounds like that to me too. What good is going to see your doctor if you can't get some answers. Even if they send you for more tests, it is still action. I would get an up-date on my doctor to see when I could see him, not some substitute for a doctor.
