I have been a loyal member of AA for over 32 years. The program has saved my life. It has helped me to cope and survive lots of tragedy and that is what has earned my loyalty. I have been disloyal to certain groups and meetings when they changed formats or didn't help me to cope and survive. One meeting that I went to allowed a man to stand up and say that I deserved to die of cancer because I smoke cigarettes. Not one person stood up and objected to him saying this. My cancer is NOT because of cigarettes. It is because of my taking hormone replacement pills for years and it caused me to have a malignant tumor in my left breast. Not one person stood up for me! They all sat there like deer caught in head lights. The disloyalty of that group and their heartless cold judgement of me made me be disloyal and never go back to that meeting again. I can't/won't be loyal to anybody or any thing that judge me and treat me with such cruel disloyal actions.......Bunnypie

That is not a very accepting response of you and your cancer. I think that I would think, "Judge not lest you be judged." Most people think cigarettes, a friend has problems breathing and everyone says that is the problem, but she lives near factories and has bad polution, is on a bus route, and lived next to a guy who had mold and homing pigeons, so there are always other contributing factors.
She has been a loyal and good friend for 18 years. I don't hear that much from her lately. When she comes to mind, I always try to pick up the phone.
I have been loyal to this group for years. Even when I was asked to leave the group twice because I posted too much, I still looked at it as my Home Group, especially when I couldn't get out to meetings. I had posts deleted and moved and had to work the program and say a lot of prayers. I come here because of the 3rd and 5th Traditions.

Hi Jo---You & Lin have been the heart beat of this site. You have both kept it going for years. I applaud your loyalty! I do my best to be loyal and post a new chip every day on the Chipping Away column. I like what you once said that it gives people something to read. I am glad when you respond to my posts because it makes me feel like I am not talking to myself!!! Thanks again & again for stopping by------Bunnypie

Smiling, do talking to myself quite well. Have had a lot of practice.
I look at it as connecting to my God and I am never alone. He leads me to where I need to be each day and gives me the words that I need for today, whether it is written in 2016 or in 2004.
