I'm am so grateful for the people who have let me cry on their shoulders when I have been an emotional wreck. I am ungrateful for going up and down the emotional ladder with the communications break downs of my cancer recovery. I have been hysterical with disappointments and misunderstandings. I am grateful for my sobriety and willingness to continue to go to meetings. I am ungrateful to the people who have turned their back on me and walked away when I needed them the most. This is a chip that goes back & forth for me-----Bunnypie

Very much on the grateful side of this chip. Didn't expect to live to be 40 and here I am in my 75th year. It makes me even more grateful when people say that I don't look like I am 74 and take me to be much younger. Even people on the telephone say I have a young sounding voice.
Grateful each day I wake up, especially if I wake up with no pain. It generally doesn't last long, but in the moment, I try to remember to say thank you.
When I see those little things happening in my life, I also like to say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you." They make the not so good things just a little bit better.
My sponsor told me many years ago, a grateful alcoholic will never have a reason to pick up. I added to that and say, "They may have a lot of excuses, but no real reason."
So grateful for the program of recovery, it helps me to live life on life's terms. It is a good day when I can think and work through my pain. This past week, I made it out four days out of five, that alone is a reason to be grateful.

An attitude of gratitude is so important to my physical & emotional sobriety. I have an orange Dodge Dart and it reminds me to constantly say to myself "orange ya glad?" I am so grateful to be able to spot it in the parking lot and not be walking around forever looking for my car. This is just one of many things I am grateful for.......

A girl in NA use to say, "Orange you glad you found NA" when she handed out key tags at a meeting.
This is our Thanksgiving weekend and I was grateful to celebrate it with my son and his friend Ed, who is moving away to go live with his brother. It was nice to have him for dinner to say goodbye to him.
We did make the scalloped potatoes to go with the ham. It was my son's idea.
