It has been explained to me that jealous is personal and envy is material. I am jealous of people who have hair. I have been bald and sickly looking for approx. 6 month now and I have learned to live with it but I do miss my long curly blonde hair. I try my best to be content with wearing hats and earrings to match my top. I recently had an eye exam to see if I need new glasses. I get cross eyed tired with fatigue but the good news is that my eyes are good and it is just another side effect of chemo & cancer. I am content to know that it might eventually be cured.---------Bunnypie

For the most part, I am content; but every once in a while, I think of going back to beinga blond, but think of all the fuss and bother and the upkeep, and late the naturally gray hair just be. I started going gray at the age of 21. Over the years I coloured it because my hair often had about 4 colours in it.
I love hats, but most times they give me a headache. Often vanity will get in the way, and then when the headache is bad enough, I will take it off.
I am told that most people want hair like mine. It is naturally curly and it is white and silver now, so it really boils down to acceptance. It helps when a guy stops me like one did the other day to tell me that he liked my hair. Didn't know him from a whole in the ground. A neighbor the other day told me I was looking good these days, so things like that help me to be more content with who I am in today. As I have said in the past, I have not grown old gracefully. I have gone kicking and screaming all the way. That includes wearing my new jazzy pants and wearing lost dresses, along with my standard uniform of jeans, hat, gloves, boots, jersey top (use to be turtlenecks), and a jacket now that cooler weather is coming on.

My eyelashes have started to grow back and it makes me so happy to NOT look like Kermit the Frog!!! The hair on my head is about a 1/2 stubble and is gonna take a while before it actually starts to look good. It is slowly coming back but it is straight and black NOT blonde and curly!!! The total opposite of what it use to be like!!!!!---Baffled Bunnypie

So my friend, put on a new attitude. I was born a brunette. Carry it well, it is okay to be you. Remember it is the inside that counts. If I remember rightly, Anne Miller was a brunette dancer, I thought she was more attractive than all the blondess that were around her. She had attitude. I wish I had found AA when my hair turned a beautiful shade of plum. I would have been able to carry it off when I was about 3 years sober. I became a redhead that got caught in a swimming pool in the mid 1980s. It was my son who suggested I become a blonde in recovery.

A friend asked me if I thought that I wouldn't be recognized if I changed my hair colour and hair style. I have had it short and long. I prefer the long, but most people say I look better and 10 years younger when I wear it short.
My hair in today is almost all white. As the hairdressers say, "Many people come here to get hair that looks like yours. Be it short or long, curly or straight, blonde or gray. At the moment, I am content to have it gray, short, and curly. LOL!
