I have been in a lot of pain from my cancer surgery and my caretaker has a list of all the times I have taken pain pills. I thank him when he gives me one but I have been rude and asked how long do I have to suffer to get another one??? Pain can make me be real rude and I have to try to get a grip on that!-----Bunnypie

When I was in treatment, I was told that the body can manufacture the pain to tell us that we need more. It was how I became addicted. It is so important to take as prescribed. If one doesn't work, another one won't, I became immune. Meditation helps me when I am in pain. Prayer asking for healing and help works too. I found I couldn't take my pain out on others, that would be rude. A few manners makes for a better day, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. It is the thinking behind it all. Please talk to your doctor if the pain pills aren't working.

Hi Jo----yes I know I shouldn't take out my pain on my caretaker. I try to be real grateful and polite. I need him cause I can't take care of myself right now. I need to be patient and let myself heal. I just get grouchy and impatient when I don't feel good. It is a reason not an excuse-----Bunnypie

Know what you mean, wasn't feeling well, went back to bed and slept for 5 more hours. Felt much better when I woke up. Sometimes I have to give myself permission to go to bed because I used my bed for years. Always wanting to go to sleep and shut out the world. After all the meds, I took Gravol, it was the candy that made everything else work faster. So glad I don't have to go there in today.

My caretaker is keeping a list of times that I take the pain killers. I can take them every 4 hours but have gone 6-8 hours without them. I am trying real hard to be honest and say "do I need them or just want them?" I don't want to have to suffer thru detox so I am being brutally honest with myself. I have been using ice packs on my surgery incisions and it really helps to numb it out and make it feel better. Ice is nice and I can't over dose on it!!! LOL We will be amazed....Bunnypie
