I am proud to have my closet ready for winter. I unpacked a tub of sweaters and sweat shirts and did a load of laundry. I am humble that I had to get rid of a lot of sweaters because they were too low cut and showed my surgery scars and chemo port. My sweaters and tops are now conservative and not very sexy. I am proud that most of my sweaters match up to my hats that I wear to cover my crew cut length hair. I am proud to have a little bit of hair but I have enough humility to realize that I better leave my hat on!!! I go back & forth with pride & humility-----Bunnypie

Sounds like you are looking and feeling humiliation and not humility my friend. It is what is in the inside that counts. Keep it simple, things don't have to be low cut to be sexy. Humility is to become teachable, to be open to new ways and concepts and I am proud that you have been working through this change in your life.
For me, humble means giving my God the credit, and thank him for putting the people in my life to show me a new way of living without using people, places, and things to escape reality.
I don't have a lot of 'stuff' and I found that I can be happy, joyous and free without it. It depends on my attitude in today. For me it is about gratitude. I never thought I would live to be 40, and here I am 74.

Thanks for the kind words! The first few words in the 7th step are "humbly asked" I have to keep sharp on the difference between a request and a demand. You are right it depends on the attitude. Thanksgiving in America is Thursday and I need to remember an attitude of gratitude. That is the whole idea behind Thanksgiving.

You were an inspiration to me, all of a sudden after I signed off on the computer, I soaked my feet in hot water. It took a lot of pain out, and I went and put away summer and brought out my winter stuff. I had already washed it a short time ago, all I had to do was take it out of the plastic bags. The only thing I am missing is my winter coat. I found the hood, haven't found the part that matters. It is a good thing I had two.

Oh Jo!---Thanks for saying that! So glad your feet are better! LOL Yeah the coat without the hood is better then the hood without the coat!!! Glad you have a back up winter coat. I have a medium weight one and a real heavy one. The weather can get brutal cold in Chicago area and you have to have a coat that will handle it!!!-------Prepared Bunnypie
