Saturday November 26th, 2016 Chip Humor/Humorless

It is some real dark humor that I am having to take care of my caretaker! He messed up 3 outta 4 muscles in his shoulder and has to wear a sling. He is going to the bone doctor on Tues. 11/29th to get it verified. We went to a Quick Care place right when it happened and they took xrays but if it is muscles he will need to get an MRI and have his doctor order it. We are both real humorless about this. I am going to try to cheer up and have a sense of humor. I unpacked some Christmas stuff and found a Christmas night shirt that is real humorous! It says "I believe in Santa Claus. I believe in any man who brings me presents and leaves before I have to make him breakfast" This night shirt really got me smiling -----Bunnypie

Love it. Thanks for the smile. I am trying to decide whether to go back to bed or stay up. I just looked out the window and it is raining. If the sun decides to show itself today, I will go and do some more grocery shopping.

This was a topic at my group last week. My service sponsor took credit for teaching me to laugh at myself. Her humor was sicker than mine. I later found out that most of what I said went into her ear and out her mouth. When she was dying, she phoned me and I was sponsoring her.

Humor is so important. It says in the Big Book to not take life so seriously in Tradition #4 in the 12 & 12. Recovery is serious business, for me to use is to die. I chose life. I choose to enjoy recovery. I have been given a second chance at life.
