I’M SORRY
When there are others who are not able to forgive us for whatever reason, we can’t make them forgive us. It has to be their decision. However, we can do a few other things that will help. First, we can pray. We can pray asking God to forgive us first. Then we can pray for strength to live a better life for Him. We can pray for those we hurt to forgive us. Second, we can go to that person and sincerely apologize. Third, we can communicate. Talking and listening to them is a good step to build that relationship back up. When we do wrong, others may have a hard time to forgive. But God forgives and He can help.
Ephesians 4:26-27 “And ‘don’t sin by letting anger control you.’ Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, help us to do what we need to do to mend relationships. It may be we need to apologize. It may be we need to communicate more. It may be we need to listen. Show us what we can do to let others know we are truly sorry and seek their forgiveness. We know we mess up sometimes but we also know we need to quickly mend those relationships so we can all better serve you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God wants us to quickly mend relationships so we can better serve Him and others.
If we let anger control us, we are allowing the devil to move in.
A good way to keep a relationship healthy is to communicate through all problems.
When we ignore a problem, it doesn’t go away. It just gets bigger.
There are two words we can say to begin to mend a broken relationship. Those words are “I’m sorry.”
James 5:16 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (NLT)
Focus: Let’s be sure we are seeking forgiveness from others for any wrong we have done.
