So often we feel comfortable about where we are at and think life is okay.
A long time sponsor told me, if you feel good, then best you look at where you are at and examine your life for old tapes and old comfort zones and get out of denial.
Often where we are at is a message from the past and we dont' realize we need to move on and make changes.

I have a few of those OLD TAPES from childhood that creep in now and then. I think the most frequent one is how I am worthless and can't make a decent decision...can't make good choices. In my heart I know this is not so...I make lots of wonderful choices with my life. But hearinbg it over and over as a child, it is tough to break those feelings.
I'm pleased today that I am not in that position very often. My 4th and 5th step really helped me move past that.

Hey Brenda! Welcome home! Great to see y9ou back at EOR!
Those tapes really can do a number on us...I agree.
I try to use th eimage of my "picture-in-picture" on my TV . I can picture a GOOD tape on the small screen and when the old tapes start up on the big screen I hit the SWAP button andthe good tape replaces the small one. If I do it enough times, The GOOD tapes stay on the screen instead of the old ones. LIN

When I hear old tapes today, I have to remember that I am the one in charge of the play button. Thanks to the program, I can rewind and tape a new message instead of replaying the old.
