Allowing myself to become vulnerable was one of the hardest things I had to do in recovery. I had been hurt so many times, real or imagined, that I didn't want to let anyone close to me. This program is a powerful one. It overcomes fears and allows you to walk in faith.

V is for Volunteer. Service is a big part of recovery. Volunteer for service positions at your group. Volunteer in your community. If you can't work on a regular job, volunteering helps you to get out of self and help others, in what ever capacity you can. We all have different gifts. Remember you are only half a hand shake.

V is for Visual. Visualize what you want to do with your life and where you would like to go. What we put out comes back to us, Sometimes we have to be careful of what we ask for, we just might get it. Visualize the goodness entering your body (God supplies our needs) and the not so good leave as we let go and let God.

V is for Voice. We all have a voice and we have a right to express ourselves. It isn't so much what we say, but how we say it. As the Mary Poppin song says, "A little bit of sugar helps make the medicine go down. Other times, the song says, "Say nothing at all."

V is for Victory. We have victory over our disease if we ask for help in the morning, give thanks at night, and stay in today. yesterday is gone, tomorrow hasn't got here yet, and that is why they call this the present. When I live in today, I have victory over my disease when I work my program one day at a time.

V is for Value. i need to value myself and respect myself and others in recovery. We are here to stay clean and sober. nothing else matters, that is an outside issue. The program works on that too.
