Planted Close To The Stream

My mind is peaceful ... my heart is sure.
My spirit has wings on which I soar,
away from what little minds think and feel.
A coward can't know what to me is so real.

I'm not in the box that most people live in,
Too scared to imagine ... nowhere to begin.
The things that most matter thrive inside my heart.
Expressed through humor, music, writing and art.

I'm proof of the things that most people can't see.

Look at the Oak ... as it used to be.
Climb up the branches and look at the earth,
you'll see where the tree ... was a seed.
Now, stand on the ground while the Oak is a seed,
look up at the sky and see the whole tree.
It's really not hard to believe ... and then see.
In fact, it's quite natural ... for me.

So with peace and assurance inside ... inside I soar,
Into the future that I am meant for.
Knowing it holds all the things that I need.
Like an Oak with roots so secure;
a tree ... that once was a seed,
un-afraid to be more.

My roots found a way to the stream.
Reaching upward ... continued to dream.
