Just because I have a thought, I don't have to act out in it. Some things are better left unsaid. It is my morning, I have been awake for only 2 and 1/2 hours.

T is for Treat. Treat yourself. It doesn't mean have a drink or overeat. Every pay day I try to buy myself something. When finances are slim, I can't always afford butter. If bacon is on special, I buy it. Everything tastes better with butter and/or bacon. The only thing I needed to be mindful of is spoiling myself rotten.

If I have fear of a moral inventory, then I need to go back to Step Three and verify my faith in my HP. Never fear when God is near. Take Him with you through the Steps.

Thought Prevention by Max Lucado
We are not a victim of our thoughts. We have a vote. We have a voice. We can exercise thought prevention!
“Don’t talk to me,” we say. “I’m in a bad mood.” As if a mood were a place to which we were assigned, rather than an emotion we permit. Or we say, “Don’t mess with her. She has a bad disposition.” Is a bad disposition something we have like a cold or the flu? Or do we have a choice? Paul says we do. In 2 Corinthians 10:5 he says, “We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.”
Capture every thought—you get the impression we’re the soldiers and the thoughts are our enemies. The minute they appear we go into action. Selfishness, step back! Envy, get lost! Find another home, Anger…you aren’t allowed on this turf!
Capturing thoughts is serious business! But, you can do it!

Really like this concept. What came to mind was 'corralling all our thoughts into something positive instead of staying in the negative." I had a sponsor who told me, surely you can find one good thing in a person, place, or thing. Just because we have a thought we don't have to act on it. We have a choice, we change it into something that will help me in my recovery.

Father Leo's Daily Meditation
SEX
"A little theory makes sex more interesting, more comprehensive and less scary. Too much is a put-down especially as you're likely to get it out of perspective and become a spectator of your own performance." --Dr. Alex Comfort
We make too much of sex because we are afraid of it. We abuse God's gift of sex by placing it out of context, removing it from the other things that make it meaningful, e.g., gentleness, trust, sensitivity, communication and commitment.
The performance becomes more important than the expression. The meaning gets lost in the event. God's precious gift of sex is abused by the sex act itself and it then begins to feed on itself. Compulsive sex is only demonstrated loneliness!
Spirituality teaches me to see all things as part of God's gift of "wholeness" and sex is an important part of this - but only a part.
God, in the awareness of my sexuality, may I discover a relationship with myself, others and You.

One Day At A Time THOUGHTS “The universe is transformation; our lives are what our thoughts make it.” Marcus Aurelius Antoninus The power of our thoughts is astounding, and my negative thoughts kept me in chains for many years. I was constantly thinking of what was not right, what I didn't do right, what needs of mine went unmet. My life was miserable by my own making. My own thoughts kept me in a prison of negativity. The only person who had the key was me. For many years I stayed locked in, not knowing the key was in my possession.. When I came to the program I learned that I had responsibility for my “side of the street.” I finally came to understand that I was able to change my thinking, one day at a time. It was a slow process. It took a life-time to learn negative thinking patterns, and it took years to learn positive thinking patterns. Using the tools of the program was the key to re-educating my mind. At meetings I heard positive statements that others made about themselves and me. Reading program literature was always a positive experience. As I chose nurturing, loving sponsors, they affirmed me and my baby steps toward wholeness and healing. All of these, and other tools, worked slowly to bring about an awareness that I held the key to my own prison door and gave me the courage to take the key and free myself from negativity.. One day at a time... I will choose positive thoughts and actions that bring me freedom. ~ Carolyn H.

One More Day Oft when the white still dawn Lifted the skies and pushed the hills apart I have felt it like glory in my heart. – Edwin Markham The world is one, a whole Universe, and we are a part of it. But sometimes, we are so enmeshed in ourselves — in the details of our lives, in the unfair limitations placed upon us — that we become closed and forget the rest of the world. We see nothing else. We hear nothing else. But if we reenter the world, the natural balance there gives us peace and comfort. The beauty — splashes of color, fragrance of flowers, trees swaying in a breeze — is also our beauty. We inhale the breath of spring amid the sounds of life. All seems right with the world, and we are one with all life. Today, I will find joy and meaning in being alive within a living world.

From "Meditations for Women Who Do Too Much" by Anne Wilson Schaef If God is a fly on the wall, Nanny, hand me a fly swatter. - Gaby Brimmer Even Jesus felt forsaken by God. We can identify with him. We have been angry with God, and we have abandoned our Higher Power because we felt abandoned. This God on whom we want to depend simply refuses to live our lives for us. We want to turn it all over to our Higher Power and lie back and relax, and old H.P. is not cooperating. Where's the fly swatter? If my Higher Power won't do it my way, to hell with it. Right! Enjoying ourselves, are we? Isn't this fun? A fight with God - that should keep us occupied for quite some time. When I feel abandoned by my Higher Power, I am the one who has gone away.
