The Five Reiki Principles
Living according to these five simple principles allows you to assist in your own healing process by changing your thought patterns for the better.
Each of these principles focuses on today. There is no generalized target in the future, no huge challenge to overcome, just a simple promise to do your best here and now.
Just for today I will let go of anger.
Anger is only a reflection of our own beliefs; it is of our own making. If something makes us angry it is probably triggering an issue tht is unfinished. Whenever we find something that falls outside our own experience we either try to take it on board or we think it ridiculous, perhaps threatening, and we act against it in anger.

Just for today I will let go of worry.
We always have 100 per cent trust and faith, but we must ask ourselves in what we have placed that trust and faith. Time spent worrying achieves nothing. The best way to conquer worry is to confront it. The more we push it away the stronger it will appear to us. If the worry doesn't go then perhaps we shouldn't be doing the things we are contemplating.

Today I will do my work honestly.
Honesty is rewarded. We should respect and honour others as we respect and honour ourselves. Find a worthwhile job, one that uses your talents and makes you feel valued and fulfilled. do the best that you can in everything you do. Be honest in all your dealings and you will be treated honestly and with respect.

Today I wil be kind to every living creature.
Who are we to judge? How can we say who or what does the most good and gives the most benefit? Don't we all, human and animal alike, just want to live in happiness and comfort with food and shelter? Our needs, desires and fears are all the same. If we are cruel to another, we are also being cruel to ourselves. When we finally realize that we are all connected, then kindness to others comes naturally.

Today I will count my many blessings.
Few of us take the time to have a look at what we already have. We are never satisfied and always want more, which leads to competition and greater stres. Stop, look around and swe how much we already have. Say thank you for what we have and for the friends and family who care. Find the positive in every situation. Be grateful and you will never be poor.
