As I was growing up I always associated "The 4th of July" with freedom.
After AA it took on a new a personal meaning to me.
I was so grateful I was no longer "chained" to a bar stool or "hand-cuffed" to a drug. I had been in a prison of my own making for many years........and at last......I was "free" again!

Takes on a whole new meaning when, you have a loved one serving in the service far away from home.

Thank you for this message. I dound this site today and it has already been a great help to me. I hope that tomorrow will be my second Independence Day. Reading rrough the messages is giving me strength.

Dear Tiger----One of the promises in the Big Book is that we will have a new freedom and a new happiness. I am so glad that I have hung around long enough to get the promises working in my life!!!! Great to hear from ya!!!! Happy Independence Day (every day) Love & Hugs-----Misty Eve
