I really appreciate this website for a number of reasons. The main one is this room, The Forgoten Children of AA.
I've been playing around with the alcohol and pot, once again. I've decided to give sobriety another try. Nothing major has happened in my life because of my using. I just want to have a "straight" head, again.
Thank you for having this room.

Thanks, Lin.
I'm just a pregnant dog today, trying not to use. I will get through it.

Hi Robin<
No One Is Hopeless!
I was in and out of AA for 13 years - could not get honest with myself - thought I was different. In addition I had "conditional sobriety". My sobriety was contingent on people places and things of this thing we call life.
When I had my "moment of truth" I had *unconditionally surrendered" - Drink Was No Longer An Option......no matter what!
I also had tended to be the "prosperity drinker" - couldn't stand success, had to celebrate! We all know what the alkie associates with celebration.
Keep It Simple, live and think in the "now" - go to f2f meetings and remember if I could do it.....so can you!!!
BTW that moment of truth occurred 29 years ago!
