U is for Unity. Don't be alone for the holiday. Reach out to family and friends. Go to a meeting, go to a church of your choice, go to holiday observances, and enjoy yourself.

V is for Vested Interest. I can only get out of this program, what I put into it. I am powerless over other people"s actions, but through the program and my Higher Power, I can control my own actions and behaviors.

W is for Who. Accepting who I am in today. was a big growth step in my recovery. It is important to remember that it is one day at a time. What I did yesterday, will not keep me clean and sober in today.

Y is for You. Wherever you go, you take you with you. For every finger you point at someone else, you have three finger's pointing back at you. You need to learn to identify, not compare.

Z is for Zero. As the Big Book says, "When our score card read zero...." we reached out for help. We could no longer go it alone and we had to reach out and ask for help. Ni matter what you call Him, Buddha, Creator, God, Higher Power, Jesus, or Zion, He answers.

B is for Be. It is okay to just be. Well make that sometimes, or maybe we need to change our attitude and get a little motivaed.

C is for Call. Call your sponsor, twice or as needed. Call friends from your phone list (you do have one don't you), call on your God (He is there you just have to reach out to Him). Remember to ask for help in the morning and give thanks at night.

E is for Each Day is a New Beginning. When we do the next right thing, we can't go to far wrong. Sometimes what is right for us, may not be right to someone else, but that is okay. We need to live our own life and find out what works for our program.

F is for Freedom. I have freedom to choose my options. Using was never an option, it was quit or die. I have another option, work and apply the 12 Steps to my life. It sure beats that other option. The drug is but a symptom of my disease. My dis-ease will resurface now and then, and I need the tools to handle it. I am on the freedom road to recovery.

G is for Great I can have a great day. I don't have to let things that happen spoil a perfectly good day. As a long timer shared many years ago, I have bad moments in a day. O don't let those moments ruin my day. I can't allow them to take away my sobriety (soundness of mind). Love her, looks like she has a tremon disorder too.

I is for Intent. This card keeps coming up in my meditations. I got it this afternoon and tonight, I went to my NA Meeting. My primary purpose is to carry the message to the addict who still suffers. Not sure if it was to remind me of my meeting or reminding me of why I was going there. To top it all off, I got asked to chair the meeting.

J is for Just for today, I choose not to use. Just for today, I choose not to use people, places, and things. Just for today, I will have a program and I will follow it to the best of my ability. We can do what I can't do alone.

L is for Love. We not only need to learn to love ourselves, but like ourselves too. You need to become your own best friend. Give yourself a hug or a gift, to say I Love You.

N is for Nothing. You should not let anything stand between you and your recovery, especially your serenity. Without you, you have nothing. Your family and friends don't have you, if you don't have your recovery.
