A is for Acceptance. You don't have to like it in order to accept it. If you don't accept it though, you stay stuck. Acceptance gives us freedom to grow and change in recovery.

E is for Especially you. When you read the literature, you will think it was written especially for you. You may have read a passage several times, but pick up the book and it is like you have never seen it before, and it is exactly what you needed to read in today.

F is for Fun. Have fun in recovery. Don't take yourself so seriously. Remember Rule #62 found in the 4th Tradition of AA's 12 & 12. Enjoy your recovery. It is a serious program for those who want it, but as we travel the recovery road, we need to lighten up. I like to think of it as letting the sunshine in.

G is for Growth. They say no pain, no gain. I have found it to be true. Emotions can be just as tiring as physical labour. We need to feel the emotions in order to let them go. We can't shove them down, ignore them, and/or wish them away; we have to acknowledge them for what they are.

H is for Honesty. We need to get honest with ourselves, so we can be truly honest with others. Our God knows our deepest, darkest secrets. It is up to us to acknowledge them and bring them into the light.

I is for Insecurity. We need to be mindful of them and boost them up with affirmations and promises to try to do better next time. The failure is in the not trying, not about trying and not meeting our expectations.

M is for Memories. We have to feel our feeling in order to let them go. So much of our past we have not processed, grieved, or acknowledged and we need to put things into their true perspective. How we saw things back then, just might change in today. We saw things with tunnel vision, selective hearing, and used people, places, and things to block out what we didn't want to see, hear, or talk about. We blocked out the negative, and by doing so, we blocked out the positive too.

N is for Now. When we live in the now, we don't miss out on today. As the saying goes, if you have one foot (or thought) in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, you are pissin' all over today.

R is for Resolve. Don't try to resolve your problems all by yourself. Remember this is a "We" program, put it out to the Universe and see what you get back. Take your stuff to a meeting and ask for feed back. If you are lucky enough to go to a group who has a nutse fairy who gathers up all the stuff you and others dump, when you go back next week and all the nutse has gone and everyone is in a new day
