Just for today: I will view the world and my life through the clean spiritual lenses of my program.

This reminds me of my rose coloured glasses I wore before recovery. Denial sure can give you tunnel and blurred vision.

Love the concept of a spiritual lens. It brings me to a quote I heard many years ago, "Though I see through a glass darkly..." It reminds me to bring things out of the darkness and into the light so I can have an honest appraisal of them.

When I take off the blinders, I can see God in all things.

Took my friend Theresa my copy of the boo "In God's Care, Spirituality in Recovery. We are both recovering alcoholics and we both were addicted to prescription medication. We both identify with Adult Children, as we were daughters of alcoholics and we each have an only son who is an addict. We both have the same reaction to the smell of pot, and now that they have made it legal, it is everywhere. We have to guard against instant migraine.

We met in 1991 and though there have been times we have had to detach from each other, when we reconnected, we just picked up where we left off.

So glad I got to see her today. She is hoping to go home tomorrow.

Liked the concept of this. Spiritual lenses make for more clarity and understanding.
