U is Up. Up, up, up and away as the song says. Out of active addiction and onto a new way of life. Pull ourselves out of those dark places and up into the light.
As we work ,our way up the Steps, we will find ourselves, our God, and new direction in our life I don't have to go down to the depths of despair, but look up with hope ho a better tomorrow, one day at a time.

V is for Validate. Validate yourself. You are worthwhile. You do deserve recovery. You are not your disease. You don't have to go outside for validation. Have a Little talk with your God. He/She doesn't make junk.

W is for Wish. Make a wish, but leave it in your Higher Power's Hands. Don't fixate, worry, plead, etc.let go and let God.
Don't wish your life away. Live in the moment and just be.

X is for EXpectations. EXPectations can lead to hurt, abandonment issues, anger, disappointment, sadness, rejection, and many more unpleasant emotions, especially placed on oneself.
We need to be mindful that we don't project our stuff onto others. We can't put expectations on someone who is not capable of meeting them.

Y is for Yellow. Yellow is the colour of caution. Are you heading toward a lapse in your program that could lead you to relapse. Are you still doing the do things that got you where you are in today? Are you in a good place? Are you still doing the basics? Do you still go to meetings, talk to your sponsor, pray and meditate.
Go out into nature, enjoy the sunshine and let it rejuvenate your spirit.

Z is for Zip. When I was in early recovery, it was suggested to me that I zip my lip and shut up and listen. I was told that I didn't know enough to talk. When I look back, they were right. I knew zip, not only about recovery, but didn't know myself.
