Typical mom that I can be--I didn't have a favorable answer for the girl when she rang me to get a response to the voicemail that I missed. Stupid cellphones....
I'm thinking I'm done doing the knee-jerk thing...and I've moved straight on to letting G-d do HIS job.
I'd like to ask for prayers for the girl though, if I could. She's boarding a plane in the morning and is making a trek to Baton Rouge--her Labour Day Weekend will be spent as part of a Red Cross Disaster Response team. She'll be doing data entry, helping to get the names of survivors/displaced persons into the computer so folks can find some rest and/or be reunited. It's a honourable way to spend her long weekend. It's a loving and awesome thing to do. I'd like her to be safe in the journey.
Thanks for the prayers--

Hey Morey, What an honorable thing for her to do!!! Consider proud of her!! I will say prayers for her and all those that are down there helping out. As we all know we can donate to the American Red Cross to help out. Sure wish I could do more from my end.. but saying prayers can be worth millions. take care. and let us know how she is doing.

Prayers are on the way as i write. She is learning a wonderful lesson in life...be grateful for our talents and use them to help others. She's talented with comuters and is ucing that talent. What a blessing for her and for the families she is helping.
This whole disaster is like a huge nightmare. It is on TV and is hard toimagine that is hapening in the US...in a huge urban area.
We do what we can to help. Prayers are an easy thing to do and I promise to add mine. You should be proud of your daughter for making this decision with her long weekend.
