A wild turkey can fly short distances up to 55 MPH and they can RUN 20 MPH!

Turkey is actually thought to be the Give-Away Eagle or South Eagle of many Native People.
Simply stated, it is the deep and abiding recognition of the sacrifice of both self and others.

Lin I beg to differ on the running speed of a wild Turkey,I saw a thing on national Geographic where they were clocked at up to 35 miles an hour on the ground

WOW! That's pretty fast DNS! The paper I got this from said 20, so that was what I was going by. National Geographic is a very reliable source, so you are probably correct.
I shared alot of the trivia with my third graders the day before our Thanksgiving break. The one they loved the best was... turkey breeding has caused turkey breasts to grow so large that sometimes the turkeys fall over.
