When we have 50,000 thought running through heads we can become ragged and dysfunctional. When we are in this spot we can pull back from it all and allow ourselves to focus on one simple thought. I think of meditation as "Brain Training." Focusing on God, a problem, a beach, the sunset, or nature. At first I could only keep my focus for a few seconds, but with repeated attempts the lenght of time increased. Not only does this calm my mind but I come out of a meditation period feeling relaxed with some focus in my life.
Are you meditating ? How do you do it and what are you thinking about?

I find my thoughts are really increased in meditation while sailing. You feel the power of the wind. I equate it to God. We can't see God but, we know he's there Same as the wind. Each one of us has to find a place to be alone with God, to draw off his love and strength.
