M is for Memory. Much of my past and childhood is blank as a result of shutting down and shutting off preferring to live in fantasy instead of reality.
It is nice to wake up and have good memories of yesterday.

M is for Me. Coming into this program I learned how to take the focus off of others and keep it centered on me and my serenity and peace. The "Me" that is here now is a whole lot different than the person who originally came into this program. Me , I am constantly growing ... changing... evolving. Hopefully into a person who has a better contact with my Hp.
Love & God Bless Arlene

M is for More. Before it was people, places and things (drugs, alcohol, work, food, etc.) that I used to escape my reality and tools that I used to deal with life because I couldn't cope. Today, I utilize people, places and things to stay clean and sober (soundness of mind) one day at a time. More friends, more support, more meetings, more work on the steps, more putting out my hand to others all help me to stay sober just for today.
Today was special, I celebrated 14 years of recovery tonight and it was good to have the unconditional love and acceptance of friends and my AA family.

M is for Motivation. When I make a decision, take an action, and/or let something go, I try to examine my motives behind each situation. Often it takes anger and pain to motivate me to take the necessary steps, it would be nice not to have to put myself through all the chaos; although it is certainly better than it use to be, there is still lots of room for improvement.
