When doors are locked look for a key.

For most of our lives, we have pushed or been pushed to persevere, to never give up trying to attain worthy goals. Thus learning now that we need to surrender to God's will seems counter to all that had helped us succeed in years past.

What we come to understand is that we need not give up our goals; indeed, we should strive to accomplish them. But when we find doors closing in our faces or get repeated rejections for our efforts, we need to look to our Higher Power for understanding. Perhaps our direction is not consistent with God's will. Surrendering, then, becomes the solution. And the right goal for us will emerge. Getting on track with God will assure us peaceful well-being.

Am I in tune with Gods plan for me today?

Our family has been praying for my husband's circulation problems in his right leg. Over the months it has gotten progressively worse and yesterday he had a proceedure done on his artery that was not successful and now must move on to the have other surgery done. Everyone has been praying for him, for the best outcome possible. Last night I talked to my son who called to see how he was and when my son found out the first proceedure was not successful, he doubted that his prayers had helped my husband at all. I reminded him that we have no idea what is best, that our prayers do not go unheard, even if the end result isn't what we 'd like to see happen.

Although I'm sure we will all continue to pray that my husbands health returned to normal, surrendering to God's will means we need to say our prays, or requests and then accept the end result according to God's plan not ours and do the next best thing.

Reminds me of a story I heard a long time ago on AA:

A Grape Grower on the west coast had a storm come down fron the mountains and destroy his entire harvest. Shortly afterwards, his wife was rushed to the hospital. The last words she said as he left was "Jim, pray for me" All the way home, he said to himself "God don't hear prayers, God don't answer prayers. First, he destroyed my harvest and now my wife.

Upon reaching home, his little boy said "Daddy, why don't you pray for mummy?" He replied "God don't hear prayers, He don't answer prayers" The little boy said "He answered my prayers" The father replied "how did he answer your prayers? I know you have been praying for a little red scoter for months now and you don't have it. If He answered your prayers, what did He say?"

The boy replied "He said *no, Daddy"

and from my experience, He many times says "*not yet*

It could be a "not yet".......I will pray for you and your husband!

My prayers are with you both. It is difficult to be joyful and find the Christmas Spirit when we are going through difficult times. I pray that each of you find this spirit and that it will help you through this one day at a time.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for hubby. He's scheduled for a double artery replacement on Dec. 16th. It's quite scary and will be hard on us since he won't be working for up to 8 weeks without a paycheck.

I enjoyed the story about the little boy too. Sometimes God does say NO.
