This reading struck a cord within me. Sobriety has been a blessing but there were/are times when I had my misgivings or resentments about it. Recovery is all about change. And for me change takes a while. Different routines, different schedules, a different way of life.
I had one of those light bulb moments..... there are always problems and challenges put in front of us, whether we are in recovery or not. For me this is God's way of keeping life interesting and keeping me on my toes. If everyday would be the same old hum drum routine, what would be the point of life? It is in these challenges that I find the spice of life. Sure I may crab about change (working on that one) but it is the the challenge that keeps me motivated.
For example I could be annoyed with the A going to meetings. But what would that serve? Meetings is where he got his sobriety and reinforcement of his program.
I could crab about the missed dinners, but it gives me a break from cooking when I order out.
I could crab about the change in his personality, but it is that change which has given him his sobriety.
So the bottom line is Me and my acceptance and greatfulness about his sobriety. Something that I work on constantly. Acceptance, honesty and trust.
Love and God Bless Arlene

Thank you for sharing my friend. Acceptance, honesty and trust are the program for me. When I live in the day, and take each moment as it comes, through God's Grace things happen as they should, not always as I would have them, yet I know it is part of the Master Plan when I turn each day over to Him.
My favorite Slogan is "Let It Begin With Me." I fell in love with this phrase many years ago and it has been a great Serenity tool for me. I also like "God and I are working on that one!"

Just bought a book called Emotional Sobriety. Was just wondering tonight why I haven't read it yet. Not sure I want to know the answer to that thought.
The Eagle had come up in my cards lately. In Jamie Sam's Medicine book, the Eagle means Spirit.
