Can anybody tell me about something called STACKERS? I heard of it a couple of weeks ago. A lady said she had to fire an employee for being "stacked" all the time on stackers. She said she was hyper and talking non-stop and then a few hours later as it wore off she was grouchy and hard to get along with.
I found a bottle of them here last night. It's half gone. I wont ask about them , so i am asking here. What are usual signs and symptoms that a person is 'stacking"/ The bottle looks to be an over the counter caffeine pill. It also has something in it called chitosan which is used in some diet pills. This bottle says no ephedrin. Is there one out that has ephedrin? Is it addictive?
I did a search at google and after 5 pages only saw things for cars, diapers, and burgers.
Will somebody please give me some insight on STACKERS?
thanks LIN

Lin ,
Stackers are used by weight lifters and body builders, or people who want to loose weight. The original formula had epinephrine in it to stimulate an adrenalin surge for strength. There is a bunch of these over the counter drugs. There are tons of warnings that go with these. You can check on CVS.com. Not a good choice to mix with any other drugs.
This is the warning from CVS site
Personally I tried another brand of these a while back called Xenadrine I only took a half of one and wound up with heart papitations. Basically all of these are used to rev up your meatbolism and can lead to serious consequences.
As to it being addictive... physically I am not sure but mentally I would have to say yes. You can easily get used to the burst of energy from them.
Love & God Bless Arlene

Thanks Lildee. I looked it up on GOOGLE and did not find much. You are right abot the high blood pressure, the depression and the alcohol use...that can be a problem here. (Dont think we need to worry abut the pregnancy and nursing moms...LOL} I am hoping sionce this one did NOT have the ephedrin, it was not so bad.
I was wondering what to expect if I found he had been taking them again. Might be hard to tell. manic depressive naturally have high and low mood swings and i am used to that over the years.

thanks for the input. Sounds like speed to me. But they say they are caffeine pills. Could you not get the same thing from several soft drinks or coffee? I have no idea how long they's been there, but i found them friday and he's not taken any since then. Must have been a one time thing...probably around the one day relapse.

If you drink enough coffee or soft drinks Lin, you can get that "rushed" feeling for a short amount of time. Some people can drink coffee all day long and it dont' effect them as it would to those that rarely drinks coffee and get that "antsy" feeling from caffeine. Most people like taking cafefine to stay alert longer or to supress their appitite. Like speed does only speed can last for days or weeks because its made up of entirely different chemicals apart from "caffeine".
