Sometimes my thinking out loud gets me in trouble. So i will post and you can tell me what you think.
The old baords had a section called birthdays and anniversaries. It was for recovery as well as belly button. It only had 12 posts...one section for each month and when somebody knew of a birthday of either kind, they posted on the month. It was easy to look and see who was having a birthday for the month.
The new boards the birthday is one post in the coffee shop. Each consecutive post is just a reply to the original. Today i looked at it and realized i missed a birthday by one day. I also posted a list of March ones i have on my calendar.
I remember we were trying hard to keep the number of forums to a minimum and thus the birthday is a sticky at the top of the coffee shop. Do you think it woudl be used more if it were a section on it's own? (remember..jsut thinking out loud....not trying to be bossy...LOL)
If you do, and open one, I'll repost the march list for ya. if not, i will try to check it more often to be sure I dont let one sneak up on me!
Thanks Sunnygirl for all you do to keep the EOR baords running smoothly. I really do appreciate your service!

Hi Lin,
The best way that I find out the birthdays and anniveraries is to check the calendar at the top of the home page. Then I try to get my post up for it. Just a suggestion. Arlene

Mornin Lin,
We did have a separate section for birthdays and anniversaries on the old board, but we didn't have the calendar...... I am not to certain, which one was more effictive for remembering them ? ? ? I know I posted mrsspanish's birthday on the calendar myself and yet I forgot to wish her a happy birthday yesterday.
Let's kick around the idea of a "separate section" for a little while and if the majority of you want this, I will toss it to Kathleen and see what she thinks. I don't want to try to fix it, if it's not broken. Having the calendar at the top of the page is a wonderful tool, we just need to remember to check it out......
Hugs to each, SG

sounds ok. I never even knew we had a calendar until you mentioned it. I guess that is why I missed so many birthdays and such.
