I've never used the notify button, so I can't help you. I jsut thought I'd reply and see if a post from a "regular member" worked differently than one from an administrator. Hope so! LIN

Well I have had six notification messages in my mailbox. In response to this post and to another one I check off requesting notification.
May I suggest adagio that you respond to one of the other posts, or reply to the ABC column, or put in a new thread in one of the other sections. Check on the notification button, and see if you get a response.
It could be that it doesn't work on a reply to another's post, or just a fluke error when you did it the first time.
This is for questions to administration and may be formated differently. Perhaps the notification check box just didn't click in and operate that one time.

I'll try the notify button this time and see if I get an email.

I tried the notify buton with my last post and i did get 2 email notifications. Jsut a guess Adagio...but if you have the email set to certain kinds of email accounts such as hotmail, then they will only show up if you have them in your address book. You MIGHT want to check your junk mail box at the account you lsited. those notifications might be there. It worked for me.
Good luck! LIN

Lin has a very good point. Some of the email accounts do that if you have your spam gaurd set to high. I have a yahoo address that sends some things to my bulk mail even when I have the sender in my address book. It would be something to check into. I have found no reason why it shouldn't be working for all members from any post where the button is available. Hang in there, adagio, we'll get this figured out.

For some strange reason, I got notified of a reply on another board. I don't think I did anything differently, maybe it's a hit and miss thing.

It shouldn't be hit and miss, if you click on the notify button anywhere it is available, it should just work. Like I said, I can't explain it. At least it's working somewhere for you. That's a good thing. ;D

The notifications are handled entirely by the company who provides the boards. To my knowledge, no one at EOR or Monitors and More has any control over them at all. The only thing I can really do is see if they are working for me or anyone else who gives me feedback. As far as missing posts are concerned, I have explained to dg that I have not deleted anything, and I won't unless specifically told to by Max. Max is currently in the process of determining who all does have the controls to do so to prevent anything from being deleted that shouldn't be, such as dg's post. If there is any clean up to be done, it will be Max's call, not mine.

Shelie, I think I found something that MAY be behind my lack of notifications, I don't know. I was looking on members, and found that my name in various forms was listed at least 4 times. On the others, I'm listed as a newcomer...on this name, an old-timer, I think. I still don't get them, btw. I have received two, but clicked for more.

adiago, To be honest with you, I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not, but I have noticed that many members are listed more than once, usually with some variation in the name, such as capitalization. I looked and saw that you are listed several times, once as adiago (oldtimer) but you are also listed as Adagio and adagiogelato, both of which I think have you listed as a newcomer, and you obviously found one that I didn't see. (Once I found three I quit looking). It may help to delete the extras, but I am not sure. You should be able to delete them yourself if you sign in as each one (the extra ones, of course) and go to the profile for that name. I have the ability to delete them, but I would not do it without being specifically asked by you. I am glad you are at least getting some of the notifications!! Progress has been made! If you need assistance deleting the extra names, please let me know. And have a very nice day! Shelie ;D
