The program teaches me to keep an open mind which for me leads to equality. I can get prejudice very easily. It is a character defect that I need to continue to work on and pray about. Are you prejudice or do you practice equality??? Please let me know! Thanks Mistyeve

I am very much a believer in equality. I dont think I am prejudiced toward any group. The closest thing I have to prejudice is I woudl not sit by idly and do nothing if I knew of a "snake handler" religious group that made their 6 year olds hold poisonous snakes to show their faith inGod. I believe in freedom of religion. but that one I can't accept. I have seen it on TV in the deep south, but not anywhere around here. So maybe I'l never be asked to be on a jury or somethig for such a case.
I have one bi-racial child in my class. She's a beautiful little girl. The students and I treat her no diffferently. But her mother seems to have a chip on her shoulder. She jumps at the least little thing and jumps down my throat abtu what i plan to do about it. I mean seriously...why should a parent need to call a teacher at night and scream that another little girl had ROLLED HER EYES AT her daughter and she wanted me to get tot the bottom of it and find out why. that girl rolls her eyes at me too...she does it to everybody. I got another call today because the girls were jumping rope at recess, the rope is one with plastic tubes on it. The slip out of hands easily..have slipped out of mine. The rope slipped and whipped around and hit her daughter in the arm. She called me thinking the other girl was using it for a whip and beating her child. Is the child changing the story to mom for attention? who knows. But I know i woudl not allow my students to be mean to another student for any reason. That's not my nature.

Wow! we got a great variety of comments on this chip today!!!
Dear Lin---The woman with the bi-racial child shoulda thought about that before she went ahead and had her. There is always gonna be a feeling of prejudice by some people. Other people don't care and take it in stride. Halle Berry is bi-racial (mullatto?) and she is one of the most talented and sexy women in the world. The mom of this kid needs to know that when ya point the finger ya got 3 pointing back at you!!! Just my opinions!!! Thanks so much for stopping by with this thought provoking stuff. Good to hear from you-----Mistyeve
Dear John---I still got work to do on this chip too. I was raised by very prejudice step father and it is hard to "unlearn" a lot of old tapes from child hood. Thanks for stopping by!------Mistyeve
My Very Dear Arlene----You are an all American Girl!!! Great Quote! I can picture the flag flying and the anthem playing! LOL so glad you could stop by with this great reminder! Grateful Thanks----Misty

Dear Lin,
Love the tail-waggin' terrier!!!
Prejudice not on the whole, if I am at all, it is against prejudiced people.
We are all made equal in God's eyes. Often I think that all of us could work on our equality, we often see ourselves as either more than or less than.
We often think it is not okay to look that way at others but often do it to ourselves.
