I am a file clerk at a Ford Dealership and I have to be organized as part of my job. I can remember where I put things when I put them in the same place all the time and label everything with post it notes. My job is smooth and easy when I stay organized. Are you organized or disorganized? Please let me know! Thanks----Mistyeve

I am organized I am trying to reorganize my life after trashing it on alcohol. After almost 2 years of sobriety I am still putting my life in order and achieving goals that were impossible to do while I was drinking

Congrats JOHN for the almost 2 years!
I agree Mist. When things in my life are ORGANIZEd they go alot smoother. I dont procrastinate, I label containers where i store things. I make lists for everything. I shop very early for occasions like Christmas, birthdays and family diners.
Staying organized was a survival thing from childhoos. There was so much chaos in the home with both parents being alcoholics, that SOMEBODY had to being some order alot of the time. I appouinted myself to be that person...at about age 8. Im not a "neat freak: by any mneans, but I sure am organized.
Staying organized helped me keep that "boy scout moto" of BE PREPARED. If i was PREPARED,, then lat minute kinks...changes in plans when one or more adults was not able to do thier "jobs"...kept the rest of us in some sort of order.

Dear John----I learned early on in my program to "plan the plans don't plan the results" Sounds like your making progress. Good Luck and thanks for stopping by---Mistyeve
Dear Lin---It sounds like you developed some real strong organizational skills at an early age. When organization becomes a habit it is real easy to do. Thanks for stopping by!----Mistyeve

Good Morning Misty,
Seems we had this chip not too long ago. Hmmm wonder if there is a reason for that?
Today I am going to try to look at this chip from a different point of view. Where my organizational skills came from......
The bulk of my organizational skills came from my mom. Ouch, hard to admit that, as she was just as sick as anyone in recovery. Back then they didn't have Alanon. " Everything has it's place, so put it there, or else." Let's not get into the "or else" that is a whole different chip.
Then the Army showed me how to get things organized to the the point of being neurotic. "Your socks had to smile at the Drill Sargent," after you balled them up the way they wanted.
And the balance of my organization skills came from my "A" , who is an obssesive / compulsive.
No wonder I am neurotic about putting things away. My skills were learned from two "sick" people, and an organization that only knows rules and regulations.
Not that being organized is a bad thing, but there are times when I think I am a little overboard with it. I can store tons of "where things" are in my brain but for the most part I am the only one who knows it. So anytime someone is looking for something they come to me. "Ma where is.....?"
I have learned via the program to lighten up with my kids, when it comes to the mess in their rooms. Now instead of constantly nagging them to clean up all their junk , I just shut the door to their room. It's only a problem when their junk starts creeping out of their rooms and invading the rest of the house! Need a spiritual solution to that one.....
Love and God Bless, Arlene

TeeHee Lildee, perhaps your kids need the Spiritual Awakening. Mind you I can identify with them, more so than the rest of you neat freaks.
I figure it fits if the door closes. If I can't find it, I look for it later or I may make an attempt to organize.
As you say Lin, it saves time, but not too big on time these days. My problem is that I like everything handy and things tend to pile up around my computer. My desk is my world, it was a lot worse when it occupied my bedroom from hell!!! Today is a good day, you can see my bedroom, you can see my desk, don't just look into the kitchen. I just cooked a big chicken dinner and have no energy left to do dishes, and I have a meeting at seven.

Dear Jimmy----I know how ya feel with a Mom who was real clean. It is something that you tend to carry into your own home. I have found my self asking "now how did Mom do it?" So glad you could stop by!!!! Love & Hugs--Mistyeve
