I have got a terrible head cold. My nose either plugs up or drips. I'm very defensive about blowing my nose all the time. I got to breathe so that is just how it is. Are you defensive or relaxed? Please let me know! Thanks!----Mistyeve

Good Morning Mistyeve,
Any sickness can make us feel miserable, sad depressed and sitting on the pity - pot. Be grateful it is only a cold. Don't be defensive about your cold you surely didn't ask for it.
Think of it this way If you go to the doctor you'll get better in 7 - 10 days. If you take care of yourself , drink lots of fluids, and rest you'll get better in a week.
Unfortunately colds are from a virus and there is little to combat them, they have to run their course. But in the mean time try some "Jewish" penicillin. (hot chicken soup) Hey if it doesn't do anything at least it tastes good , now that is my kind of medicine.
Defensive/Relaxed
Right now relaxation is the thing I need most. Just being diagnosed with TMJ, relaxation is crucial to the "cure." All of the stress has gone to my teeth & jaw. Leading to grinding and clenching my teeth. (Causing some major dental stuff).
Hopefully, meditating, yoga and prayers can bring down the stress level before I wind up a toothless old hag. LOL Also thinking about instituting and official "Time out period." Where no one can bother me, unless it's an emergency." There is also the possibility of biofeedback. Just gonna take this ODAT and see what works.
Feel better Misty.
Love & God Bless Arlene

Dear Wonderfu Arlene---I Love the win/win situation with the chicken soup!!! That is just great! I had TMJ too and the dentist wanted to make me a mouth piece to wear at night to keep from grinding the teeth. The cost, time, and trouble to get it done had me really grinding my teeth!!! I just rub my side of my face where the top and bottom jaw meets and repeat the word CALM over and over. It works for me! Thanks so much for stopping by!------Mistyeve

I like to team up relaxed with stressed instead of defensive.
I am more on the relaxed side of this chip. I know my HP wont give me more than I can handle..that' he is with me....that each crisis is a GIFt that i can learn from. Why worry about my troubles? take them as they come and make the best of each situation.
No need to stress or get defensive. People who are sick have to blow their nose. No big deal. Jsut be considerate of others and cover your nose when you sneeze. A few days ago a student sneezed all over his paper. He announced tht his paper was all gross and wet. EEEEEEW. more information than we needed. LOL

Meditation is how I relax. It is a big part of my life and how I deal with the chronic pain in my life.
I too have TMJ, and have been having muscle spasms the last couple of days. If I have an attitude of acceptance instead of becoming defensive, I can let go of the tension and stress which allows me to relax.
