Living on one nostril and being caught without a kleenex can really
be chaotic when you are trying to work. I got a great feeling of serenity cuz my sister got tickets to the sold out Elton John concert that is on my birthday. My birthday falls on a Saturday night
so it is gonna be GREAT!!! I feel
happy and serene just thinking of it!!! Do you have chaos or serenity
in your life??? Please let me know

Elton John concerts..WOW. How awesome! I recently went to my very first ever concert..Clay Aikin. I really enjoyed it!
Tonight i went to my f2f meeting and the topic was the serenity orayer. And I know that i can use my recovery tools like the Serenity prayer , letting go, slogans like how important is it or live and let live..I can use acceptance and detachment. And even when life is chaotic, I can find peace and serenity.
I learned tonight that one of my good freinds who has a 13 year old daughter...her daughter got raped this weekend. I just cant imagine the pain they must be in. Please pray for my friend and her daughter. She will know in a week if she's pregnant from this rape. You cant get more chaos than that.

Dear Lin----My heart breaks for your friend and her 13 year old daughter. Rape is a horrible 4 letter word!!! I pray they find the monster who did that and that the girl will be okay medically. I
guess my chaos isn't so bad next to
that!!! Thanks for sharing! My prayers go out to your friends....

I am free of the chaos of my drinking life,DUIs, jail,fines and trouble.My life can get hectic at times but mostly I have serenity.

Good morning Mistyeve,
Just reading through the posts. Prayers going out for Lin's friend.
I had one of these subtle light bulb thoughts about chaos and serenity. If there is chaos in your life then change what is going on. Change your attitude, change the way you do things, change your life. If you need to set boundaries. It is your life and you can change it. Do what ever you need to, to maintain your serenity.

Chaos may be going on in my life, but how I handle it is what determines whether I am serene or not.
Acceptance has been a bit key to my serenity. Once I come to a place of acceptance of what is, then I can generally let it go.
The Serenity Prayer is certainly a great tool, and so far I have found that you can't wear it out. It is always there. Always powerful, and it seems to fit all occasions.

Dear Misty Eve!! My life now is very calm and I do feel the Serenity in my life. Like Tiger said there is a BIG difference between problems and trouble!!! Today I know that I have a choice in how I handle these two words ...I choose Serenity when possible!! Have another good 24 hours everybody!! When I was drinking I was the problem and I created trouble. Today in recovery, I have challenges. Problems I can stay stuck in, challenges are something I can overcome with the help of the program and my HP.
