I am a file clerk at a Ford Dealership. I have to keep things organized so the mechanics can find the service manuals quickly. Things get disorganized but I put them back in place so they can be found. I feel good about being a support system to the mechanics. Are you organized or disorganized? Please let me know! Thanks----Mistyeve

I'm very much on the organized side of this chip. I put things in labeled totes, I file things, I make notebooks for things. I make lists, use calendars to put dates and appointments on. I multitask and get lots of things accomplished.
I started being this way as a child. I had so much chaos in my life with both parents being active alkies that I had to find a way to bring a little order to my chaos. THIS was something I could control so I got good at it.
Dont get me wrong. I have clutter and still have occaisional choas in my life. But if I want something I can usually go right to it.

Ummmm...... ;D
I'm sometimes organized! And sometimes not...LOL
I think I equate organization with being disciplined. And there's a whole lotta areas I'm extremely disciplined and organized around. You folks taught me that, the program taught me that. Things that I'm organized around are the disciplines of the program. And because of those disciplines that keep me centered, spiritually, there's so much less chaos/disorganization in my life.
I don't have labels on my boxes and things neatly filed away. Stuffed in a right file, in a right drawer, in a right cabinet--yep...but neat? LOL No. I do know where to go to find it though!
The daily reading organizes my focus for the day. That fourth step organizes how to go about cleaning up a messed up life. The tenth step organizes me in looking at taking care of my business pronto so I'm not creating disorganized chaos and crud in my life that I don't need. The seventh step organizes me in surrendering what doesn't work and the eight step helps get me organized so I make things right with G-d and other people. You get the picture..LOL
But where I put that receipt for the shirt that's too big that I'll need to return next time I'm out shopping----.....well, now...that's another story..LOL

I am organized to the extent I know where things are,I am also trying to get my life organized as well. When I was drinking my life was chaos,I drifted through each day without any plans or goals.I no longer have to live life that way I have a plan.

Dear Lin---I like how you compare organization to a survival instinct You mentioned as a child you did it to survive and it has helped you to survive into your life right now. I think this is a great example of if it works don't fix it!!! LOL Thanks for stopping by----Mistyeve
Dear Graced----You brought up a lot of great examples of how the steps & the program discipline you into being organized. I know i was told to get on my knees and say Help in the morning and Thanks at night. I have been very disciplined and I get up a few minutes early to have time to do this. It also helps me to organize my time in getting ready for work. Thanks for stoppin by today! You gave me some good food for thought!!!----Mistyeve
Dear John---You sound like you are a man with a plan. There is a big difference between striving for a goal and just drifting. So glad you could stop by today!---Mistyeve

Organized chaos for sure. The scarey thing is that it is better than it use to be. One of those things, God and I are working on. The nicest thing is I don't beat myself up so much over it.

TeeHee!!! I like it, thanks for the thought.
I always say, "If you come to see me, come one in. If you are here to see my apartment, then you'd better leave."
