I read a Quote by Woody Allen that said 80% of Life is just showing up This makes responsibilities easy for me when I remember to just show up to work,to the dentist,to an AA meeting, ect. I try to be a responsible person and impersonate an adult when ever possible. Are you responsible or are you irresponsible???? Please let me know! Thanks!----Mistyeve

I try to impersonate an adult but i also like to experience the joys of discovery of a child. I guess that's why I love elementary school teaching. I get to do BOTH and get PAID for it.
responsibil is how I hope I am perceived. When I am assigned a task or volunteer for it i give it 110%. When I have a job to do I try to do it to the best of my abilities. I take responsibilities seriously. If i choose not to do something, I say NO. I'd rather do that than do a half-a$$ job of something.

Dear Lin---that is really cool how ya get to enjoy the best of both worlds by being a teacher of small children. You brought up a real good point about not taking on too much responsibility. Thanks for stopping by!----Mistyeve

Morning Mistyeve,
We're bunkering down for a noreaster with at least 12 inches of snow and near blizzard conditions expected. Hope you have better weather.
I have always taken my roles in life seriously and try to be responsible about my roles in life, be it wife, mother, or professional. But life wasn't always like that. there were plenty of times in my youth when I was the rebel and did what I wanted, without thought of any consequences. But with time I grew up and matured. I began to realize what is important in life. In my profession I began to be grateful for the simple things in life. Seeing the injured, sick and dying on a daily basis can make you grateful for all that you have and all that you can do.
But much the co - dependent that I am there are times when I am overly responsible and have taken on more than my share. That is one of the miracles of the Program. It has shown me what is mine and what is not. So now I am not as overraught and stressed out by not worrying about everyone else's business.
Be careful out there today.
Love & God Bless Arlene

My sponsor told me many years ago, "Suit up and show up for the day, and the rest will follow."
I find that when I live in the day, and in the moment I am able to do this. The biggest learning was that I needed to be responsible to myself. I couldn't let other obligations (real or unreal) get in the way of my own self-care.

Dear Arlene---Good to hear from you Honey! We got about an inch of snow so far but it's not suppose to add up to much. It sounds like you were part of the medical profession and that is a serious and major responsibility cuz ya have people's lives in your hands. Thanks for stopping by today!----Mistyeve

Responsible ;D Irresponsible I like to think of myself as being a Responsible person. When I first sobered up in the program of AA, I was not a Responsible person. I didn't know what dress up and show up ment. I remeber my sponsor comming over to my new appartment and asking me if I knew what a hanger was used for? lol I laught at this stuff now, but then I had so much to lurn about living life sober and Responsibliity. Today I know what a hanger is used for, and I do know how to dress up and show up. A new comer asked me the other night after an meeting. "What should I look for in a person if I wonted them to sponsor me?" I told them if I were to ask some one to sponsor me today, I would watch if then walked like they talked. I try HARD to walk like I talk these days, If I say it I will do it. Fallowing through with the plan is a big deal with me thise days. There was a time my word didn't mean any thing, only cuz I didn't fallow through. Said it and didn't do it. Today I just do it, and things around me get done. lol Glad that I popped in, thanks for podting this today MIsty. lots of love and hugs Kathleen

Dear Caressa----The old timers said the same thing to me "suit up,show up, & shut up" I was also told to take the cotton out of my ears and put it in my mouth. A disgusting idea but it got the point across... Thanks for stopping by---Mistyeve
