I am splitting my time between 2 branches of the dealership I work for. The dealership itself and the parts warehouse. I am prejudice toward the dealership cuz I have my own desk and a private file room of my own. It is more like a library with filess in it. The parts warehouse I have a table and chairs to sort & alphabetize the files. It is primitive compared to the dealer ship. Are you prejudiced or do you practice equality??? Please let me\ know! Thanks---Mistyeve

I believe in equality. I think we all have rights to the same freedoms and opportunities. Like John said..in recovery we all ahve a common reason for being here. We are equal in that. I have heard it said this disease is an equal opportunity disease. It can effect rich poor, young, old, black, white, etc.

G'morning! Here's hoping you're feeling well today, Misty.
I don't like to believe myself to be one who pre-judges people, places or things. It's been a long process to change a bitter and 'mememe' attitude into one of love and looking for the good in everything and everyone. I have things I favor, circumstances I'd choose over another set of circumstances, but judging the other choices as 'bad' is something I try to stay out of.
Equality sounds a whole lot nicer than prejudice. Truth is, there are still prejudices that I have. I'm especially prejudice when it comes to groups that endorse themselves as being superior/better than. I bristle and find myself defensive and ready to take them on to prove them wrong. Cuz we're all children of G-d and we each have a right to be here--no better, no worse.
Be that a religious group that assures me I'm going to hell for not believing as they do(which doesn't get a HUGE reaction) or the KKK/Neo-Nazi Groups(which does)--I can prejudge and come to some fast and hard conclusions, lumping the people as bad as opposed to their actions and message being the source of concern.
The good news is I've learned to pause and not act on what I feel, elsewise I'd be giving myself permission to become that which I don't like, eh?

Dear John----You are right about AA being a very diversified group of people. I have met and talked to so many different age, ethnic, and social range of people in this program then I ever wood at the bar. Thanks for stopping by! Mistyeve
Dear Lin---It sure is an equal opportunity disease. It makes no distinction between people. That may be the magic of how it works?! Thanks for stopping by!---Mistyeve
Dear Graced----I really like how you think!!! LOL I too have to be careful to not be prejudiced against the prejudiced!!! thinking before I talk is still a relatively new concept for me. I do try real hard to do it. I think this program is amazing. Here we are a group of people who would ordinarly NEVER mix!!! We mix just fine..... Thanks for stopping by! So good to hear from you!----Mistyeve

Afternoon Mistyeve,
Backlogged here. Kids needed my computer for schoolwork. Their computers are not good enough.(small hard drives) Humph !!! Invading my space. I like my creature comforts and become annoyed when they are invaded. I get really overprotective about my computer. (Especially since the kids always seem to mess it up.)
Anyway Equality/Prejudice
This is an easy one for me. We are all equal in God's eyes. God doesn't look at race, religion or sexual preference for admission to His world. He judges you on the good things you have done in this world.
Racism was a big thing in my house growing up as a kid. Even as a child I couldn't see why judge a whole race or sect of people just by the actions of a few. Fortunately the bigotry that was displayed in my home never brushed off on me. If anything it made me even more curious about other races and cultures. And frankly I am glad for it. There are so many wonderful people all over the world and they are all God's children. This is one thing that I am truly grateful to pass on to my kids. When their friends come over it is like the League of Nations in my house. Thankfully they all like pizza !!!
Love & God Bless Arlene

I am for equality. Yet its funny how prejudice can creep in and take away equality from us in such weird forms, and how shallow humans can get, only if they would just let go, and Let God....

Dear Arlene----You gave me a flash back of my childhood. My parents were very strict about the kind of guys I dated that I am real amazed that I dated at all. I mostly had to sneak around...but that is a whole other story/chip. It is sooo sweet that you give all the kids pizza. You are looking for the similarites NOT the differences and that sounds like equality to me. Thanks for stopping by!---Mistyeve
Dear DG---The slogan Let Go & Let God is amazing cuz it can bring peace as well as equality. Thanks for stopping by!----Mistyeve
