Hey I am so glad everyone kept on comin by to visit and post. I got a loaner keyboard while I try to get the original fixed/cleaned or both. I have the simplest equipment and even that can get all messed up! I could drip with self pity about that but I am forgetting myself and being so glad that people came to the column to talk about the chips. GREAT TO HEAR FROM EVERYONE!!! Do you have self pity or are you self forgetful???? Please let me know! Thanks-Mistyeve

Hope you get a new keyboard soon. I try to stay out of self pity I have no reason to dwell there"poor me,pour me a drink!"Today When I feel self pity coming on I try to put together a gratitude list.

Good to see you back. Did you RAED the ones posted the other weekend days? We had some good posts this weekend. I particularly liked the one by graced on Sat.
self pity or self forgetful. I call self-forgetful "thoughtful". That helps me understand what it means better.
I get into self pity once in a while...even today. Once i accept and take what life deals me without the complaining, it's not so bad. Example...a couple of months ago the doctor told me the fosomax and calcium I had been taking for 2 years for osteoporosis was not working. it had gotten a little worse instead of a little better. I was eating LOTS more calcium taking he calcium tablets, taking the weekly fosamax pill and exercising. My back felt MUCH better. His ONLY solution was start daily shots in the stomach for 2 years and test again. I was very ful of self pity. by the time i had taken my first shot, I was OK with it. getting the pen ready is quite a comoplicated series of steps. After the first couple of weeks i didnt even ahve to look at the card to go them. I do feel sorry for an old person who might have to do something like this. It would be very consuming. Once i got over the overwhelmed part and the part that it was not goin accodring to MY PLAN, I was able accept it, do what i had to do and take it.
Thoughtful? I try to be. I try to go out of my way to let people know I appreciate them. I try to let people know I remember their birthday and remember them at Christmas.

Dear John----The blue button in the upper left corner of the keyboard is jamming up and that is the one that brings ya on line. It did it today on the loaner keyboard and it might be the way I push down on it and NOT the keyboard. I get so dam aggravated!!! You are right that a gratitude list would help and to be glad I don't have to drink over it. Thanks for stoppin by!---Mistyeve
Dear Lin---Wow! a shot in the belly every day! I would want to get a 2nd opinion on that. I had to get a blood test this past weekend to see if I have arthritis and the nurse left the needle in there for ever!!! She filled up 2 tubes with blood. It hurt real bad and I've got a bad bruise on the inside elbow of my arm. I sure wouldn't want to go thru that every day!!! I hope you are feeling better soon and can possibly find an easier softer way of treatment. You are in my prayers Honey!----Mistyeve

Good Morning Mistyeve,
Glad you got a loaner keyboard. Hubby uses Web TV too. And those keys do stick pretty easily !!! Make sure you have a fresh set of batteries in the keyboard and that you are in a straight line with the base unit while you are typing.
Self pity/self forgetful
Yeah I visit the pity pot now and then. But it is a reminder to me that something is not right. That some need is not being met.
So I look at self pity as it is OK to go there once in a while use the facilities , flush, and close the lid on the problems. Just let those problems go down the drain !
Self -pity for me can be a period of introspection , looking within myself to find out what my part in it is. With that I can adjust my attitude.
Love & God Bless Arlene

Oy geeze....LOL Here I am AGAIN confessing the errors of my thinking! I am ladened with defects of character, apparently! Thank goodness I really do know JUST enough that I don't go around acting on my thinking!
Oh, what a wonderful world I would create if I would JUST stay in 'loving others'...LOL But nooooooooooo...I still get into 'where's MINE' and 'I don't WANNA' and 'now, how fair is THAT?!'. LOL
Just last evening I was doing that 11th step prayer and doing the 'yeah BUT' after the fact. LOL Obviously, I'm needing to tattoo the darn thing on my forehead so I'm not going there and dabbling in the fine art of MEMEME and MINEMINEMINE!
Oh, I can appear very self-forgetful, very thoughtful and very considerate. That doesn't seem to stop my brain from indulging in a bit of self pity from time to time.
Wiseperson told me to have the party and get it over with...LOL He mighta had a point. Let it look as it is, see how ridiculous I appear and sound and MOVE!
Let it not be said that self pity and gratitude cannot live under the same roof. Cuz I am truly grateful for a whole LOT of what I have today........BUT.....LOLOLOL
Yep......back to the 'G-d, please remove my brain' prayer!

Dear Graced,
A person couldn't stay in self-pity after reading your post. I love your way with words, you allow me to be self-forgetting.
For the most part I am not, yet lately with my health i do have to admit to being a little caught up in the "oh woe is mes."

My Very Dear Arlene----Thanks so much for the tips. I sometimes over look the obvious. I LOVE your description of flush it all down the "pity pot" You remind me of the line John Lennon said in his song "watchin the wheels" He says:WELL THEY TELL ME THERES NO PROBLEMS ONLY SOLUTIONS" Great stuff!!! So glad you could stop by today and share some good stuff----Mistyeve
Dear Graced---I know exactly how ya feel!!! I have been working on the concept of think before ya talk/act for over 20 years now & I still don't have the hang of it---Glad ya could stop by!----Mistyeve
Hey Caressa---It is hard not to feel sorry for yourself when your sick. Hope you feel better soon! Mistyeve
