I will try to have my stubborness work for me instead of against me. I have a stack of stuff that needs to be filed. I need to have the willingness to do it and the stubborness to stick with it and get it done. Are you willing or stubborn??? Please let me know! Thanks----Mistyeve

I also let my stubborness work for my own good.
I worked very hard to lsoe weight and i am stubbron enough to do what it takes to keep it off. I got lazy last summer and gained back the 5 pounds I lost below my goal. But I am working with those 5 pounds to get them back off to stay.
I am willing to do what it takes to maintain my serenity.

Dear Lin----Stubborness & Willingness can actually be assets when they are channeled into some thing good like losing weight or getting the filing done. Thanks so much for stopping by!----Mistyeve

Good Morning Mistyeve,
Willing/stubborn
Willingness is what any 12 Step program is all about. The willingness to try, the willingness to believe, the willingness to have hope when there appears to be no hope left, the willingness to change.
For many of us it is our own stubborness that stops us from finding the serenity we all seek. The stubborness to see outside the "box". The stubborness that keeps us stuck in an unrealistic world.
Sure at one time I would say that I was stubborn, probably as hard headed as anyone out there. But with time, age, and a wonderful program that stubborness has melted away. I have mellowed. Now I focus on what is really important.
Love & God Bless Arlene

Well said Lildee. If there is no willingness, I remain blocked. Many times I have had to pray for the willingness to be willing.
I only get out of this program what I am willing to put into it.

Dear Arlene----You got a real good point about willingness being an important ingrediant in any 12 step program. I was told the acronym H.O.W. early on and it is honesty, openminded, and willing. If I can do these 3 things then that is how I will recover. Thanks for stopping by!-----Mistyeve
Dear Caressa----Yeah I know how ya feel. I have to pray to be willing to be willing to be willing!!! LOL At least I am willing to pray for it. Thanks for stopping by!----Mistyeve

Yep, it's all about the willingness for this gal. Even when I'm willing to be stubborn and hard headed and prideful and madder than a hornet...LOL
So today, I'll try to practice a little more willingness to be surrendered to G-d's way of doing things. I don't haffta like it--but digging my heels in and screaming I WILL NOT, won't change what's true, eh?
I'm thinkin' there's a few I WILL NOTs that aren't all bad--but this one, I'm just plain having a tantrum over and a surrender would be wise.
Oh, how I wish I did this deal perfectly....LOL

Dear Graced----I am glad you're not perfect cuz then you wouldn't be able to come here and share your ESH with everyone. It does make sense that surrender makes williness easier to do. Thanks for stopping by!-----Mistyeve
