I heard a man in a meeting say once on the topic of God Centered that he woke up in the morning sober and says GOOD MORNING GOD instead of GOOD GOD ITS MORNING!!! I think that is a wonderful example of God Centered and Self Centered. What do you think??? Please let me know! Mistyeve

My life is very much god centered. I thank him and ask him for help every day. I have even lerned to thank him for the crappy parts of each day. They somehow needed to be there for me to learn something. Morey calls those times AFGO. (Another F****** Growth Opportunity) For many years I shut out GOD and woudl not allow him in my life. I am so thankful that working the 12 steps got me to invite him back in. Once i did that I did more than invite him in, I put Him in the center of my day.

*chuckling* Can I confess how many times I'm 'looking up' and thanking the Big Guy upstairs for those 'opportunities'? LOL Sometimes it's tongue in cheek and I'm not particularly FEELING grateful. I'm sure I look like some nutcase looking to the heavens and shaking my head. LOL
Wellllll...up until this moment in time, I've been pretty MEMEME centered. Duh...WHO's large and in charge? Oy.... Borrowing troubles and trying to 'figure things out' has never really served me well. Intellect isn't a curse, but some moments I sure do abuse the heck outta it! I think it's back to asking folks to do that simple little prayer on my behalf-- "G-d, PLEASE remove her brain" LOL My sponsor would be proud!
The good news is, I can get outta MEMEME really simply today. All I need to do is shift gears and go help someone, remind myself of that second step diddy ("There's a G-d, you ain't it, He knows all--you don't know sh**!") and get about the business of GRATEFULLY doing whatever's placed in front of me. Cuz they ARE opportunities and I do NOT know what's best for me, even still today. I'll TRY to refrain from shaking my fist at the Big Guy. :-)
Darn good thing He loves me 'as is', huh? LOL
Ya'll have a grand Monday out there!

Good morning Mistyeve,
You guys are too much , chuckling away. Maybe I am just too serious about my sanity!!!! (or the lack of it).
God has helped me a lot. Not that He has moved mountains or made me the next lottery winner, but He has given me a place to go when things get tough. A place where I can ease my poor sick mind. A place filled with peace and serenity. A place where I can sort out all the chaos and twisted thoughts. A place that puts me on the right path instead of in a ditch. A place that fills the empty hole in my soul. So yeah I am God centered cuz without Him I would be totally nuts or dead.
(By the way God if your listening I bought a lottery ticket today. LOL )
Love you and God Bless Arlene

I knew when, I drank and used I wasn't the center of the universe. If, God would just let me have everything I wanted, I'd be alright.
Now being sober, I'm glad God just gives me what I need and not what I want.
Glad God knows what's best for me
