I have a dentist appt. after work today and I have to find a polite way to say "make it snappy" The dentist is there until 8pm but do I have to be? He keeps me waiting and I think it is real rude. I want to get home and get some dinner. Are you polite or rude? Please let me know! Thanks-Mistyeve

you probably dont want to tick your dentist off you may end up with a root canal you didnt need just kidding, I can be polite to rude people as well it throws them off guard when I dont behave like them, I don't sweat the small stuff....

Dear John----You might be on to something! It really isn't a good idea to piss off the dentist especially with the drill in his hand! Thanks for the warning! I will just have to be polite and maybe keep looking at my watch.... Thanks for stopping by!----Mistyeve

Morning Mistyeve,
Mistyeve, what I do when I have to go to doctors that are very busy.... I call ahead and find out if they are running on schedule. This way I don't have to sit and wait (especially in a room with sick people coughing and sneezing all over. If they are running behind schedule I can show up a little later. I just tell the secretary well if the doctor is running late I'll be a little later.
rude/ polite
I am going to take this from a different angle for a change of pace.
I think a lot of rudeness comes from the fact that no one communicates what is really on their mind. A lot of people have skirt around the issue or problem and you're supposed to be a mind reader. I find if you're open and honest and not sending mixed messages it is a whole lot easier being polite. But people basically skirt the issues because they are afraid for varying reasons.
Love & God Bless Arlene

Good point Lildee. Lack of communication is often stemmed from people pleasing and fear of saying the wrong thing.
Just because I don't know though doesn't give me an excuse to be rude. A few polite questions and prompts from me can get me what I need to know. I often think if I am meant to know, I will. Otherwise, it is none of my business.
Dear Misty, I would eat before the dentist. You probably won't feel much like eating after.

Dear Arlene----You sure brought up a great reason why people are so non commital. I get crazy when people ride the fence and give me answers like maybe and we'll see... I am a very blunt and outspoken person and I have to remember the phase SAY WHAT YA MEAN AND MEAN WHAT YA SAY BUT DON'T SAY IT MEANLY Thanks so much for the food for thought!!! Glad you stopped by today!!!! Hugs & Thanks---Mistyeve
Dear Caressa---I have lunch at work at noon but I don't get out of work and over to the dentist until 4pm and by then I am hungry again!!! It is a good idea and maybe I will get a candy bar from the machine on the way out the door. Thanks for stopping by-----Mistyeve
